Riviera owners celebrate at Sanctuary Cove

The Riviera Family of luxury motor yacht owners has come together to celebrate the launch of four exceptional models, with more than 700 owners and their families converging at the 2019 Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show for a memorable mix of luxury yachting, socialising and boating education.

Australia’s premium luxury motor yacht builder hosted a spectacular 12-model display at the Gold Coast event, the largest display at the show featuring the latest additions to their magnificent range.

Showcasing the new Platinum Edition Sport Yachts – the 4800 Series II, 5400 and 6000 – along with the 54 Enclosed Flybridge, all of which received glowing praise from all who stepped aboard.

“It was very rewarding for our team to receive such positive reactions to our premiere models,” Riviera owner Rodney Longhurst said.

“Our 600-strong team continue to set higher standards and the feedback we’ve received across the four days of the boat show absolutely confirms that we have created something special.

New Platinum Edition Sport Yachts Premiered

“With the new Edition Sport Yachts, you will see the distinctive addition of hardtops and targa arches presented in Riviera Platinum, along with a silver/grey upholstered sunbed on the foredeck. Electronic arrays, air vents and boot tops finished in a stylish black finish.

“Their beauty also runs deep with a raft of premium, state-of-the-art features such as Sunbrella fabrics, high-gloss walnut timber cabinetry and trim, pure wool carpet underfoot in the staterooms and in-vogue lounges upholstered in soft-touch fabrics.”

Complementing the lounges are new Recaro sports helm seats with Alcantara inserts and contrasting diamond hand-stitching. Elsewhere are Sunbrella fabric headliners and wall linings, while bathroom flooring has a new luxe Corian finish.

Accommodation options for the Platinum Edition range from two staterooms with two bathrooms aboard the 4800 Series II to the option of two or three staterooms with two bathrooms onboard the 5400 up to three or four staterooms with three bathrooms and impressive layout options on the flagship 6000.

New 54 Enclosed Flybridge Premiered

Joining the Platinum Edition Sport Yachts was the premiere of the 54 Enclosed Flybridge, with its sophisticated and luxe design delivering pedigree true blue water performance and operational ease.

In addition to a flowing saloon and cockpit space, the full-beam master suite is one of three staterooms and two bathrooms, a spectacular luxury flybridge with internal staircase access, and the very latest technology featuring Volvo Penta Glass Cockpit Navigation and smooth Volvo Penta Integrated Propulsion System power.

And while Riviera’s 12-model display was the highlight of the show for a great number of visitors, many more went home with fond memories and valuable knowledge gleaned from the impressive offering of educational workshops and social events.

Riviera Festival of Boating

Centred around the Riviera Motor Yacht Club, a two-level 45m super yacht moored within the massive showcase, the eight Riviera Festival of Boating also held at Sanctuary Cove offered a unique program of more than 30 boating seminars and hands-on workshops including Ask the Experts panels, Fishing Clinic and Offshore Seamanship.

The hugely popular ‘Living the Riviera Dream’ seminar, this year was presented by David and Lis Paton who recently completed a significant circumnavigation and live-aboard adventure of Tasmania on their Riviera 53 Enclosed Flybridge, Pascua Luma.

The Riviera Motor Yacht Club also lured foodies when renowned television cook Sally Jenyns showed an enthusiastic audience how to cook a simple but delicious banquet aboard their yachts in her Galley Wise – Planning and Provisioning seminar.

“Just as our owners have the best motor yachts on the water, our education program provides them with the chance to expand their boating knowledge and skills,” Mr Longhurst said.

“From anchoring and towing to weather forecasting and maintenance, our experienced team love sharing their knowledge with our owners.”

The Festival of Boating would not be complete without Riviera’s signature VIP owner events.

A full house at the Art of Colour Ladies Luncheon at the Sanctuary Cove InterContinental, was a fun-filled afternoon of fine food, fashion and laughter.

Then it was time for the Riviera Gala Marina Party on the red carpet of the showcase and aboard the Riviera Motor Yacht Club, an event so spectacular it needed to be held over two nights.

Titled ‘Triple Platinum’ in honour of the new launches, the celebration of the greatest boats and music of our time, more than 700 people wine, dine and dance the night away across both the Friday and Saturday nights of the Festival.

“The Riviera experience is all about enjoying the best things in life, be it cruising the greatest waterways of the world on one of our luxury motor yachts or socialising with old and new friends under the stars of the Gold Coast,” Mr Longhurst said.

“Being part of the Riviera Family is a way of life for our 5,400 yacht owners around the world and our team are very proud to have welcomed multiple new owners into the family over the course of the 2019 Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show,” concluded Rodney Longhurst.
